Operation Click is in the early stages of expanding to southern Wisconsin. Check back for updates!
Congratulations to the 5 students who each won a car at the April 25th event at the Sears Centre! A student from Cary-Grove, Marian Central Catholic, Johnsburg, Lake Zurich, and Wauconda High Schools all won a car that night. In Champaign, a student from St. Joseph-Ogden and one from Champaign Centennial each won a car. Congratulations to all seven car winners, buckle up, and drive smart!
Since these events occurred, Operation Click has begun to garner more interest from other high schools and also from possible sponsors. Thanks to all the students, faculty, and sponsors for a great 2008-2009 school year. If you are interested in bringing Operation Click to your school or your community, please contact us. If you have any questions, please contact Sean McGrath, President, at smcgrath@operationclick.org.

2008/2009 Grand Prize...
For the 2008/2009 school year, Operation Click would like to thank the following car dealers for supporting this program and their local chapter(s):
Crystal Lake Pontiac/GMC (Crystal Lake Chapter)
Libertyville Chevrolet (Wauconda Chapter)
Gary Lang Auto Group (McHenry Chapter)

How it works:
Contracts:
The first step toward winning a car! Sign and return your contract by November 07, 2008 to your schools' faculty liasion. Random prize drawings for those who have signed contracts. You can't win if you don't sign!
2008/2009
YOUR 2008/2009 CONTRACTS ARE NOW AVAILABLE ON-LINE!
Click on the "Contract" page above.
Student Committees - Get Involved!
Work together with Board members and faculty representatives . Monthly meetings - maybe even have lunch included! (get out of class AND a possible free lunch!) .
Surveys:
Quarterly seat belt surveys are done at each school to determine each school's seat belt compliance rate.
Improving Results:
| 1998 | 2000 | 2006 |
| Prairie Ridge | 65% | 82% | 96.5% |
| Central | 65% | 88% | 96.25% |
| South | 65% | 84% | 95% |
| Cary Grove | | April 06 | 86% |
Each schools' compliance rate determines how many finalists will be drawn to win the Grand Prize! 90-94.9% compliance rate and that school gets one finalist. 95% and above and two finalists will be drawn for that school.
To be eligible to win any of the major prizes, students must abide by the terms of the contract they signed that states they will wear their seat belts at all times, they will not drink and drive, they will not ride in a car with a driver who has consumed alcohol, and they will not be convicted of any traffic related violation.
Operation Click is going to expand due to demand!!
During the 2006-2007 school year, Operation Click consisted of only four high schools in Crystal Lake, Illinois targeting 6,500 students. This coming 2008-2009 school year, Operation Click will expand to 23 high schools from Harvard to Champaign, Illinois and target 40,000 high school students.
Buckle Up. Drive Smart. Don't Drink and Drive...and someone will win a car.
|
Mission Statement - Operation Click strives to encourage high school students to make a personal decision to wear their safety belts. This is accomplished through positive reinforcement, and prize giveaways. Operation Click has successfully raised the seat belt compliance rate among students from 65% to 95%, reducing the number of severe injuries during motor vehicle crashes and saving lives.
